Surprise Visitor with Grandpa

So Grandpa Brooks called us up out of the blue and said he was in Illinois for work and was going to come and visit us for the weekend. We were of course thrilled to have a familiar face coming to visit us. So he flew in Saturday morning and stay until Monday morning. Short, but sweet visit, and yet packed with fun stuff......
Our first stop was at our gorgeous Capital building. Where we had a great picnic lunch outside on the grass. It was such a beautiful weekend.

A super HIGH view inside the building.

Standing by the Indian Chief door, with corn on the cob door knobs...only in Nebraska

A view from the top of the building.

Haymarket Outing with Grandpa

Our second stop was at the Haymarket, to show Grandpa the Lincoln Station.
Followed by a stroll around downtown looking in stores and stopping by the Licorice Company and having Grandpa buy some goodies.

Looking and learning about how they once used cabooses, and why they don't have them anymore... and what it all comes down too, is that it just costs to much to keep them on, go figure!

Look how interested the kids are as they learned from grandpa about great train facts!

Grandpa showing us what a train worker would have to do to unhook the cable while on a moving train....you go Grandpa!

Here are the kids playing on the train playground there.

Than we headed home for a great Chinese dinner and a movie evening together, what a great visit we had with our wonderful Grandpa. Thanks for visiting with us!!! =)

Prepare to Laugh

(Remember, mom pause the music on the bottom right side of blog, before you push the play button. This is for you, we love you!)

It's so funny how both of our boys are so alike. Both as babies have LOVED the wind and water blowing in their faces. Caleb Did the exact same thing, and now here we are years later repeating time, but doing better catching things on camera this time around. Montey was a laughing machine, even when he fell over at the end. He's too funny, we just love this little guy!

Can Montey Brush his teeth?

Here's Montey trying to figure out how to use his new tooth brush that we got at mom's dentist appt, for her broke tooth. Good news for Tanya NO cavities, and NO rush to have to get her broken crown fixed. Which is a good thing, seeing that we currently have NO insurance....gulp!

Montey hard at work trying to use this new teether toy...........

Wrong way turn it around.......

So Close.....

Yeah he got IT!

St Patrick's Day with the Mathison's

We had a Great Time, here on St Patty's Week.
The kids threw a St Patrick's Day party with lots of friends. Many pictures were taken, but I do not have permission from the other families to post them, so I will not be able to at this time. Crafts were made, games were played, and lots of great food was eaten!
For school we did a Unit Study on St Patrick's Day. I posted a poll to see if you know or don't know the REAL reason for this Holiday....I am just very interested to know, cuz I didn't until now. After you Vote, look to see if your answer is right. Go to mathisonfamilyfun.blogspot or click on our Homeschool link to read more about what the REAL meaning of the holiday is about.

Happy Service St Patrick's Day to you all...............

Does Montey like the Snow?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm............... His face says it ALL!
NO!!! He does NOT, would be the answer! These were taken at the beginning of this month. This being his very 1st time out in the snow. He is just like his Mommy, not a big snow fan lover. Funny how most of the pics we got were of him crying. =)

Our Never Ending Snow Adventures!

The Snow just keeps dumping here, we are hoping that spring is just around the corner! That darn Phil, these 4 more weeks of winter are just killing me. Beware we might not have a Phil the groundhog next year if I get to him..................grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Mister Caleb, loves anything that happens to be outdoors, no matter the type of weather. He may be frozen as ice, but that will NEVER stop him.

Liahona our little snow queen... she loves, loves the snow. Oh did I mention that she LOVES the snow!!
Tamara shivering away, where the heck is her mom? Poor little girl needs her gloves!! This little one does NOT like being out in the snow for too long. She must get that from her mother, the party pooper!

We are hoping that this is the LAST snowfall here in the MidWest! I don't know about anyone else, but BOY am I READY for the SPRING!!! I am getting TERRIBLE cabin fever! And I'm slowly, going CRAZY!

....And MORE Teeth Missing!!

Caleb with MORE teeth GONE!
Our Tooth-less Grin Kids!
So After Caleb lost 2 teeth, and Liahona lost her 2 front teeth I posted how I hoped that I wouldn't loose any teeth, right? Well even though I have had nightmares about loosing all of my teeth, I yet managed to break one of mine in the back. Of which I have done before, doing the same thing.......eating those dang valentine candy heart! Those are killer candies BEWARE! Then after my tooth drama, Caleb lost 2 more teeth, his last front tooth and another top one..........
This has been the Month of Missing and (broken) teeth for us, Good Heavens!

Tagged by Mandi

Ok, so I was tagged by my friend Mandi a LONG time ago, and it's about time that I follow through with this, Sorry Mand! =)

Here are the rules:
1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder
3) Explain the picture
4) Tag 4 people to do the same NO CHEATING! (cropping, editing, etc..)

I Tag the Following People... Michelle, Amy, Jenye, Lauren, Janette, Amanda, Anna, Angela, Brittany, Debbie, Crystal, Shelley...happy posting and viewing those old pictures!
(Sorry, I couldn't narrow it down to four, my bad.)

Ok, so this worked out completely perfect!!! This was our Valentine's Party back in the year 2005. Liahona was 4, Tamara was 18months, and Caleb was 5. Wow! That doesn't seem too long ago, but my kids look so different, they grow so fast. (ok, yeah now I am crying....of course i would...sheesh! )
